About The Course...

In modern healthcare field, advances in medical sciences, legislative reform, computerization, and the need to manage health care delivery systems and health care costs, have created a growing demand for information professionals. Information professionals are the health information technicians with the knowledge and skills to process, analyse and distribute healthcare information. As there is increasing in aging population there is more need of medical tests, treatments and clinical procedures, employment of health information technicians is growing increasingly. Additional records, coupled with widespread use of electronic health records (EHRs) by all types of healthcare providers, could lead to an increased need for technicians to organise and manage the associated information in all areas of the healthcare industry.

  • A student who passed (10+2) matriculation (OR) Passed GCE/IGCSE A level Exam (OR)
  • University students majoring in some specified science disciplines (OR)
  • Candidates with diploma in computer sciences (OR)

  • Age – not more than 40 years and no sex discrimination

Internship Project (IP)

At the end of the first year, students shall be required to carry out a mandatory Internship Project (IP) for a period of six to eight weeks in an organisation.<br><br>

Students have to submit the IP report at the end of Semester III. The report would be evaluated internally by a panel of faculty members. The report must include a IP completion certificate obtained from the organisation concerned.
